That’s it the football is over...Back to the soaps (novelas) for another four and a half years. Next stop Qatar - November 2022. Well done to Colombia who reached 9th place and to France the winners. Russia the host nation put on a good and secure show. There is always the other soap to follow- Brexit... not sure where and how that will all end, your guess is as good as mine.

EDEQ

If you received your bill this month, have a look at the back, the slogan reads “Turn on the Joy of Christmas”. No, I say...Turn it off until December!!

Tourism

Every year it’s the same - how Armenia is ready to attract more tourists to the area, which is good for the city. The newest selfie location is Parque Sucre, all queuing up in front of the multicoloured, Yo Amo Armenia ( I love Armenia) . At night this looks nice when it is lit up. Then walk a few streets down until you reach the front of C.A.M. Oh Boy... Yo No Amo Armenia!! This area is not exactly a tourist hot-spot.

Capital v Capitol

Capital is the most important city in an area, region, country, etc., and generally refers to a governmental seat or Capital letters/ uppercase, also referring to money used to purchase goods and services for consumption, capital is more durable and is used to generate wealth through investment.

Capitol - is a government building, where state legislatures meet.

When do we Use Capital Letters?

For the personal pronoun ‘I’: To begin a sentence or to begin a speech:

For many abbreviations and acronyms: G.M.T. or GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). For days of the week, months of the year, holidays:

For countries, languages & nationalities, religions: people's names and titles:

For trade-marks and names of companies and other organisations: for places and monuments: for names of vehicles like ships, trains and spacecraft: for titles of books, poems, songs, plays, films etc:

Sometimes for headings, titles of articles, books etc, and newspaper headlines:

Odd Plural Forms

Cacti is the plural of Cactus (Latin). Locus - Loci. Millennium – Millenniums or Millennia, the latter more commonly used.

Is it a few or few?

The basic difference is between positive and negative. Few, when used without a proceeding 'a', means "very few" or "none at all". On the other hand, a few is used to indicate "not a large number". The difference is subtle, yet there are instances where the two can mean completely opposite things.

Finally, when someone offers you something and you decline- Why do you say Thanks and not No Thanks?

Until next Tuesday- Be good.
